Hi Stampers!
Tonight I am going to share a couple of pictures of my stamp room. I always love to see the rooms where people create, and I am excited to share my room, and sad that soon I will be packing it up to move. For those of you who don't know the story - my husband works in Milwaukee, and we live in Louisville. He has been commuting for a really long time. We stayed so that our son could finish high school here. Robbie is now off in college and our daughter Sarah was excited to move to WI, so over a year ago we put the house up for sale with hopes that it would sell so she could get to WI and do at least part of her Jr. year in High school there. After a year filled with lots of cleaning, tons of showings and coming close but never quite getting the offer, we finally decided to take it off the market and just stay and let Sarah do her Sr. year here. Then a week later our agent called and said a family who had seen the house a few weeks earlier wanted to make an offer and asked if we would please reconsider. It was a really difficult decision for us, but after having the house listed for 13 months - we couldn't walk away from an offer. The one thing we realized was that we all felt really good when we took the house off the market and wanted to let Sarah finish high school here, so we felt like we should stick with that plan, We have found a wonderful condo to rent, and this next month we will be packing everything up to move to the condo - and then next Summer after Sarah graduates we will finally make it back to WI. While the condo won't have a room dedicated to stamping - I will have plenty of room to keep doing classes and I am really excited about that! So here is my room. I am planning on having one more class at my house next week, and then I will pack up to move.
When I have class we usually have one or two projects set up at this table, and then I have a couple of tables set up in the Family Room where we do the rest of the projects. The boxes with the red or green edges are all of the current stamp sets I have out. I have always found the labels that come with the stamps hard to read- so I print new white labels with big print:o) Then I put a strip of red CS inside that edge of the box, that is how I can keep track of the current stamps sets and old ones. The green ones area all word sets that have been retired. If you have any questions about anything in my stamp room - please let me know!! This room also has two really fantastic closets - I should have taken a picture of that because they are the only closets in my house that are actually organized! I will photograph that later and add it to this post!
Now here is a sneak peak of a card we will be making at class next week. This is a version of a card I received when swapping at the Milwaukee Regional - but the demonstrator didn't put her name on it so I can't give her credit. I usually try to create my own projects for class, but right now I just don't have the time. She used different colors and papers, but the layout is the same. Her card was just a cardfront, I made this into a great card using two scallop squares that open. Quite a few of my customers have this set, because they picked it during Sale-a-bration - so I wanted to show them one more cute way of using it and I am pretty sure everybody is going to want the scallop square die after they do this card!

- Punches: 1 3/4 Circle
- Big Shot: Scallop Square, Perfect Dots Embossing Folder
- Accessories: Grey watercolor pencil and blender pen, Pretty in Pink, Celery and Apricot markers.
Stampin Tips:
To make this card you need 2 square scallops and a piece of whisper white CS that measures 8 inches by 3 7/8 inches - and you fold the white in half.
- On one of your scallop squares you need to cut off the scallops on one edge. You are going to trim off a straight edge - just below the scallops. That will be the back of the card. You can kind of see it in the last picture - which is of terrible quality because the camera couldn't focus, but I think you can see what I mean!
- Adhere the white folded CS to the back piece, matching up the folded edge with the trimmed scallop edge. Put your tape near the folded edge of the white CS
- Then you can adhere your front scallop. Take your time and line up the scallops!
