Hi Stampers,
I am so excited to share some beautiful sunflower cards that I designed with the upcoming Painted Harvest Stamp set that will be featured in The Stampin'Up! Holiday Catalog this year.
I played around with these stamps quite a bit and after a lot of hits and misses, I finally figured out how to make a beautiful sunflower! This is very different than our usual method of stamping - I found if you stamped the bottom image of the flower multiple times, turning your stamp in different directions it created a beautiful flower. When you add the more detailed stamp - the key it to use a darker color and only stamp that part once! When I did the center I also did that multiple times, turning the stamp in a different direction each time. This was really fun and a forgiving way of stamping - nothing had to be perfect and it actually doesn't look very pretty during the process but when you get to the end it creates a beautiful flower!
Another exciting thing about this stamp set is that it has a fabulous little punch for doing the leaves. The key to stamping your leaves is to do the detailed part in a darker color, and stamp that first, then add your background colors with lighter ink and don't be afraid to combine a couple of colors.
These are some instructions I made up for my customers to follow when making the card shown above. This is a great visual to show the process and that it doesn't really look that pretty, but you have to keep going!
I hope you have enjoyed my tips for using this beautiful new stamp set! If you are looking for a demonstrator to help with your orders, I would love to hear from you!! You can contact me at [email protected]
