Hi Stampers!
When I was at Leadersihp in January I received a couple of swap cards that had used the square lattice embossing folder to transform a piece of cardstock into something really fun. I decided to do a card using this technique at class, and when I was doing my designing - I thought I would like to try using the lovely Springtime Vintage DSP to make a card that looked like a simple quilt with a bunch of squares. It was a big hit at class and I was hoping to try making a more intricate design at some point. I was so excited to see a fantastic tutorial done by Jenna Barber on Splitcoast stampers this week showing how to do this and of course I had to sit down and try it right away. This is a really fun way to make a card and I can't wait to see if I can come up with some more designs of my own.
Today I will share my quilt cards - and tomorrow I will show you the other cards we did with the square lattice embossing folder!
*Stamping Supplies:
- CS: Pear Pizzaz, Very Vanilla
- DSP: Springtime Vintage
- Ribbon: Pear seam binding
- Big Shot: Square Lattice Embossing folder and Sizzix adhesive sheets
Stamping Tips:
- I just love how this looks like a warm comfy quilt! I had a 3/4 inch square punch that I used for the squares but you could also just cut them in 3/4 in strips.
- To tape down the squares - we used that new sizzix adhesive sheets which worked great. Just cut 3/4 inch strips of the adhesive paper, and stick your squares on and them place them on your vanilla cs in rows.
