Don't feel blue about Christmas!

I hope you are not feeling blue about having to make your Christmas cards - because here are some great examples about how pretty your cards can be!

 
This lovely kraft and blue card was designed by Laura Fitzgerald.   She used the new Northern Frost decorative strip big shot die from the mini catalog.   Laura die cut 150 snowflakes to make these cards, and then had to punch out all of the little tiny pieces in the snowflakes:o)

 
I love this card that was designed by Kris Gratz, who is a member of my first level downline.  Kris always makes her cards with lots of layers and dimension and the inside is always just as cute as the outside.  On this card she stamped the gingerbread boy inside and her Christmas Greetings were stamped in blue - spectacular as always!

Don't you just love all of these holiday cards done in blue and brown?!  I think these colors are fabulous for Christmas cards and this is a really fun fold to use with Dasher.     I can't remember who made this card - but I will check when I have access to my cards - and I will give her credit!

This adorable card was designed by my old friend Kim Walters.   Kim always makes beautiful cards with lots of detail.   This card is so cute - and when you open it up - she inked her greeting in with red, green and brown - which looks so cute!  

 
This whimsical  card was designed by Char Lemke.  I love the layout she used - I think I might try doing a card like this and make it into a tic-tac-toe board!   Super cute!

 
This card was designed by Jen Wahlgren.   I love seeing the little owl in Christmas colors - there are so many fun things we can do with that owl punch.  I wonder if we have a stamp that is a santa's hat that we could put on him?!   

Tis the Season!

Today I am going to share some of the cards that were made with the ornament punch and stamps.  There are actually three different stamp sets that you can use to make Christmas ornaments that fit the punch. 

 
This card was made by one of my favorite stampers - Christina Dungca-Lico.   I love the non-traditional colors and  this card is just as pretty on the inside as the outside!  Her is a picture!

 
Can you see that she dry embossed the inside piece - it is really lovely!

 
This card was made by Angela Hilbig.  I love how it looks so Christmasy!   The white paper embossed with the snowflakes is really nice!

 
This card was designed by Molly Clark.   I love how the rhinestones look on the ormanets - the finishing touch!

 
I found another card with the ornaments!   This card was designed by Rosemary Przybylski.    I love how Rosemary didn't use a stamp on her ornament - she used an emobssing folder (which I think she inked), and then just punched out the ornament with the punch.   Very clever!   You can visit Rosemary's blog here:  http://paperrose01.wordpress.com/

This card was designed by Julie Coyle - one of my recruits.  I love some of the fun things Julie did on this card.   She embossed her DSP with the new snowflake embossing folder and then sanded it to make the snowflakes pop.   The really cool thing is that they have kind of a fuzzy feel to them.   I also love the sewing - very cute card!

 
Here is another card using the same stamp set - and this one is designed by Dorothy Gunter.   She used shimmer paint and alcohol spray on the card, as well as the new crinkle paper!   You can't really see the sparkle in the photo-  but it is really pretty!

 
This card was designed by Phyllis Nuffer.   It uses the fabulous new DSP that has lots of sparkly texture to it.  I also love that she used the new tinsel. 

 

More Christmas Cards

 
This lovely card was made by Sarah Schueler - who is one of my direct recruits.   I love this card - the Deck the Halls DSP is so pretty with the Bells and Boughs stamp set.  You can't see it real well, but Sarah used the french words from the French Foliage stamps set on the watercolor paper that she stamped the holly on.  It is very pretty.  I wasn't going to buy the French Foliage set - and then when I saw Sarah's card I had to order it and I am so glad I did because it is one of my favorite sets!  If you want to visit Sarah's blog - here is the address: http://www.stampwithsarahs.com/

 
This beautiful card was designed by Vickie Monosa - one of my favorite stampers.    I love how she used the DSP with the new Tasteful Trims Big Shot Die.  

 
This last card for today was designed by Cheryl Lentz.    This is a good chance to see the Big Designer Buttons from the mini catalog.   These buttons would also be great for your sewing projects!   Hopefully you noticed all three of these cards used the Deck the Halls DSP.   I am wondering if these girls got together to make their cards, because Cheryl and Vickie are both Sarah's recruits!   

 

Christmas Swap

Hi Stampers!  
Over the next week or two I am going to share the cards I received in the Christmas Swap I recently hosted.  The stampers who particiapte in this swap are a part of my group - Seasoned Stampers - and my upline's group - The Stampin' Circle.  I host a swap every time we have a new mini catalog - and we are really lucky to have such a great group of stampers in our midst.   I am not going to list all of the supplies for the cards, but if you need to know how something was made, you can send me a note and I will put you in touch with the stamper who designed the card!

 
This is the card I designed for the swap.  I love this little snowman and you can see I used lots of new products on my card - the new label punch, glass glitter, tinsel and the new seam binding ribbon!

 
This card was designed by my upline Susan Gardner.    I love her clever way of creating an ornament and that she used DSP from the Nursrey Suite pack to make a Christmas card.

 
This was one of my favorite cards in the swap and it was designed by Beth Rush.  I think it is fun to see two different cards with the same stamp set!

Good Morning Stampers!

A couple of days ago I read an interesting article about things that we buy which have an incredibly high mark-up - and I wasn't surprised to see greeting cards on the list.   It stated that the mark-up on greeting cards is 200% - can you believe that?!   One reason people are willing to spend their money is on greeting cards is because of the convenience.  Hopefully all of you stampers out there keep a good stock on hand so you don't have to waste your money buying cards at the store!    In the article they also mentioned that the cards that people save are the ones that somebody made for them - it could be something that your child made or a hand stamped card received from someone you love!   Today I will share a few more of the cards we made at class.
