Hi Stampers,
Last night I had stamp class here at my house and we made some really fun cards. I hope I didn't overwhelm everyone with all of the punching and piecing to make the beautiful flowers on your cards - but I know in the end you all felt it was worth it. Back around Easter time I had posted a card I designed with some beautiful paper pieced roses. My customers asked if we could do the card - so last night we did a version of it. One day when I was browsing the card samples on Stampin' connection I came across a card done by "Kimberly" and I loved the paper and colors she used, so we did a version of her card last night. Thanks for the inspiration Kimberly! It is not often that I copy someone elses card -but when something is so perfect you shouldn't mess with it!! The DSP is from the Sweet Pea Paper Pad, and since it will be gone soon - I am trying to use it as much as I can - along with using up all of the colors that will soon be discontinued! We also learned how to make fork bows last night - which was really fun and a big shout out to Michelle- the demonstrator who taught this at the Milwaukee Regional!

Stampin Tips:
- You will notice on one of the cards the flowers look like tulips and on the second card I made them into roses. When I first started to see the flowers made with the wings they were all making tulips but I thought it looked really pretty as a rose bud also and I wanted my customers to make both versions. The flowers are made with the wing from the bird punch, and if you put the straight side of the wing on the outside of the flower it looks more like a tulip - if you put the more curved side on the outside it looks more like a rose bud. I put the front two pieces together first, then added one more petal in the back. You will also want to use the dauber to brush the edges so that they stand out more.
- The stems are made with the branch from the two step bird punch. You just need to cut off one leaf from the top of the stem to make the rose stem - and the tulip stem has no leaves on it. I free hand cut the tulip leaves.
I hope you all will have time to try making the beautiful flowers with your two step bird punch. It is really fun and I think if you just study the pictures you will be able to figure it out. Tomorrow I will share more of the cards we did at class. My favorite card from class was one that I designed with Fox and Friends, but you will just have to wait until tomorrow to see that one!
